My name is Carrie Knapp. I am the founder of dumb. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest in Portland, Oregon. After visiting Austin, Texas many times throughout the years, I knew that this vibrant and unique city would be the perfect place to grow my company.
I have two daughters. One is currently serving in the U.S. Army and the other will be a freshman in high school this fall of 2020. I have been a stay-at-home Mom for many years, but have always had a desire to create something that would be meaningful and have great impact on our world. With a lot of thought the dumb. brand was created.
It seems a pursuit of life’s worthwhile experiences and admirable deeds is what can help our children and our communities get back on course. dumb.’s four pillars of diversity, unity, morality, and beauty are the compass. We have committed to practice the dumb. Mission on a daily basis. We challenge our children with, “What did you do dumb. today?” It can be as simple as sitting with a lonely kid at lunch to volunteering for recycling projects. But there is always something “dumb.” to do. Our goal is to help other families, schools, and neighborhoods do the same: to have a positive impact on their lives and in their community for meaningful impact in our world.
